Well, it's been awhile since I've posted here.  So much happening. My DH is still recuperating from his fall and the resulting broken arm.  It's been hard for him as his arms were the only two workable limbs.  He's doing his best in rehab but it's a painful process. He'll probably be at the facility for 5 weeks or more and given his age, it will might take longer. It's not the same here at home w/o him.  The goal is for him to be able to put weight on the arm as he transfers from bed to chair or scooter but right now it requires two people to help him so therefore he needed to go to a rehabilitation facility as I could not lift him.

Our twin grandaughters are graduating today and I will be attending that event but have missed some events these past two weeks and both of us (hubby) feel bad about that but things have a way of happening that prevent alot of the best laid plans.  The Lord knows the plans he has for us but you know, the "refiners fire" is pretty difficult at times.

Please pray for Cecil's healing. I ask for your prayers for myself also as this time around, I'm having a difficult time adjusting.  I pray not for HIM to take this situation away, but for HIM to give me strength through it.

Posting a photo here of my "best friend"  during rehab.  He smiled for the photo but was in alot of pain.

I have a whole new respect for the election board.   I have learned alot and saw many people I've not seen in quite awhile.  It was a 15 hr. day but went by fairly fast as we had a constant flow of voters.  Anyway, after the poles closed at 8:00 p.m., the paperwork began and I was impressed with the security involved in this task as was in the actual voting. So, on that note, I would like to include here today's devotion which made me appreciate even more, our freedom and privileges.

"A Different World"

First of all then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

A young woman in Somalia is dead. She was stoned to death.

If you believe her accusers, she was 23-years-old, had confessed to adultery, wanted to be tried for her crime, and asked to receive the punishment due her.

According to her father, she was 13-years-old and had been raped by three men, and when she complained, she was detained and condemned.

What we do know is a young woman was stoned to death. She had begged for her life, but her pleas were ignored. She was buried up to her neck, and stoned by 50 men. After a while, nurses got her out of the hole to check if she was still alive. She was. They put her back in and the stoning began again.

More than 1,000 people crowded around to watch.

Nothing has been done to the man or men who raped or committed adultery with her.

This takes me to the point of this devotion.

I, like many of you, may not always be pleased with the way our country is going. Many of you, like me, may not always be pleased with the conduct and position of those who hold public offices.

Even so, each of us needs to give thanks to the Lord for this land of freedom. We need to come together in prayer for those who are placed by the Lord in authority above us.

Most of all, we need to be grateful -- powerfully grateful -- that we live in a country where religion can be practiced according to conscience and where the great majority of judges try to be just and fair.

Our country is a gracious gift from God, which needs to be protected, preserved, and prayed for.

THE PRAYER: Dear Father, for the gift of freedom I give thanks. Now, may I use some of that freedom to pray for my country's leaders, rulers, and judges. Whether I love them, or am less than enthusiastic about them, may they -- by Your grace -- exceed my expectations. This I pray in the Name of the Savior who has freed me from sin, death, and devil. Amen.

Thought for the Day!

I don't do windows because ... I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.

I don't wax floors because ... I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible( plus they may sue me.)

I don't mind the dust bunnies because ...They are very good company, I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.

I don't disturb cobwebs because . I want every creature to have a home of their own.

I don't Spring Clean because .I love all the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous

I don't pull weeds in the garden because .. I don't want to get in God's way, HE is an excellent designer!

I don't put things away because . My husband will never be able to find them again.

I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because . I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when

they invite me over for dinner.

I don't iron because ... I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press".

I don't stress much on anything because ..."A Type" personalities die young and I want to stick around

and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' woman!!!!

REMEMBER . . . . A clean house is a sign of a broken computer!
